Where you'll play
The Old White Course
A Legend’s Blueprint
Charles Blair Macdonald, the father of American golf course design, graced The Old White with an architectural homage to some of Europe’s most iconic greens. Its 8th hole was styled after the “Redan” at North Berwick, the 13th after the “Alps” at Prestwick, and the 15th after the “Eden” at St. Andrews. This classic design has attracted the PGA TOUR and LIV Golf, among others, to host major events on this iconic tract. A legend of golf history at The Greenbrier, our resort’s first 18-hole course has played host to countless legends among its tight, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens. A cornerstone of The Greenbrier’s golfing heritage, the course was named for the well-known Old White Hotel, which stood on the resort grounds from 1858 through 1922. Today, it stands as a living tribute to the past and present greats of the game.
The Ashford Short Course
Par 3 Perfection
Set on the valley floor with breathtaking views of the mountains, the meticulously manicured Ashford Short Course is a 9-hole loop of par 3 holes ranging from 56 to 112 yards in length. It’s a relaxed atmosphere for families or friendly competition featuring holes that pay homage to revered architects and courses around the world.
The Greenbrier course
Crafting Golfing Excellence
The host course for the 1979 Ryder Cup and 1994 Solheim Cup matches is a cherished favorite, yet challenging course for most. Due to the tragic weather event in June 2016, The Greenbrier is currently abbreviated to a 10-hole routing with all originally designed Jack Nicklaus hole numbers 1-7, 16, 17, 18 in play.

The Greenbrier course was designed by Seth Raynor, a close associate of Charles Blair Macdonald and one of the great architects of early American golf. It first opened for play in 1924 and underwent a remarkable transformation in 1977 under the masterful guidance of golf legend Jack Nicklaus. His redesign not only breathed new life into the course but heightened its difficulty and strategic nuances. During the 2017 golf season, following a weather event that greatly impacted the course, The Greenbrier was played as a 12-hole routing utilizing holes 1-8 and 15-18. Currently, 10 holes are open for play, and guests can play either 9 or 18 with a bonus hole.
The Meadows course
Vistas Galore
The Meadow's dynamic green complexes, breathtaking mountain vistas, and our signature stacked sod bunkers throughout the course. It’s one of many stories of resilience that define The Greenbrier. The Meadows has seen plenty of transformations before 2017. Designed by Alexander H. Findlay, The Meadows course began as a 9-hole course called Lakeside and opened for play in 1911. In 1923, Seth Raynor redesigned the course while on the property to update The Old White and build the original Greenbrier course. In 1962, it was expanded to an 18-hole routing by architect Dick Wilson. In 1999, Bob Cupp once again redesigned the course, and it officially became known as The Meadows.
